NOTES.

This magnificent view of the Piazzetta, with the Palazzo Ducale and the Biblioteca Marciana was painted by Francesco Albotto after the death of his Master, Michele Marieschi, when Albotto had taken over Marieschi's studio. The view is looking south to the Chiesa di San Giorgio Maggiore in the distance, whilst in the foreground to the right can be seen the edge of the Loggetta and Campanile.
